Fibre Craque

Repairs, restoration and delamination

Repairs and restorations

Over time and with use, scratches, stress and impact cracks, and gelcoat chips can occur. It is important to pay attention to and address these issues to protect the hull's integrity and prevent water infiltration, which can lead to hull delamination in some areas, which can be quite costly to repair.
We prioritize the use of fiberglass rather than filler during repairs to strengthen the structure and ensure that cracks do not reappear. Our specialized technicians are able to match the color of your boat's gelcoat so that repairs are invisible, to the greatest satisfaction of our customers..

We also carry out

• Insurance work

• Warranty work on Four Winns, Glastron, Bavaria, Manitou, South Bay, Wellcraft, etc..

• Et bien d’autres...!

Delamination

Fiberglass delamination is caused by several factors, the most important being water infiltration and impacts.
The most commonly affected parts of the boat are the transom, the deck near the windshield, and the engine mounts, as these are the areas where there is the greatest risk of water infiltration from all the equipment mounts located there (e.g., gimbal ring, trim tabs and cylinders, GPS/depth gauge transducer, swim platform mounts, etc.). Our experienced technicians will restore the strength and reliability of your boat's structure so you can enjoy it for a long time.!

Hull treatments

Antifouling(antifouling)

Antifouling paint contains biocides that prevent aquatic organisms from attaching to a boat hull. Bacteria, silt, algae, barnacles, mussels—more than 25,000 species of aquatic organisms have been identified that attach to boat hulls!
By preventing, or at least slowing, the accumulation of aquatic organisms on boat hulls, antifouling paint prevents the loss of speed and increase in the boat's weight caused by the accumulation of organisms.
Another important benefit of antifouling paint is that it slows the transport of organisms from one body of water to another, thus slowing the importation of "hostile" organisms into a new ecosystem, such as the zebra mussel, for example..

There are several types of antifouling paint and several colors.

Osmosis treatment

Osmosis is part of the aging process of a fiberglass (also called polyester) boat hull. It occurs when the gelcoat allows water to pass through to the fiberglass laminate. A chemical reaction ensues between the trapped water and the polyester components of the fiberglass, resulting in the formation of an acidic substance. This acidic substance will try to escape by exerting pressure on the gelcoat, resulting in the appearance of blisters on the hull surface. A boat with an osmosis-treated hull must undergo intervention to stop the chemical process (called hydrolysis) and thus prevent the structure and integrity of the laminate from further weakening and the laminate from rotting. To achieve this, the water trapped behind the gelcoat must be released and the fiberglass must be allowed to dry to allow all the moisture to evaporate. Afterwards, the fiberglass and gelcoat must be repaired, the hull coated with an epoxy sealant to create a waterproof barrier and the treatment will normally be completed by applying an antifouling paint.

Our specialized technicians are highly qualified to carry out osmosis treatments and will extend the life of your boat and bring you peace of mind..

Polissage

Polishing is an important maintenance procedure that is often overlooked. Ideally, polishing should be done annually. It prevents oxidation, degradation of the finish, and the shine of the gelcoat.
Several steps may be necessary to restore the boat's original shine, depending on its condition. Polishing a boat with a heavily oxidized gelcoat will involve wet sanding, several polishing steps, and finally the application of a sealant that will protect against UV rays and abrasion.
A boat that looks great with a sparkling gelcoat will be the pride of any boater!

Bow thruster designs, modifications and installation (bow thruster)

Designs and modifications

Whether it is to lengthen or modify your swimming platform, modify your living spaces, make access steps to the deck, modify your dashboard or the layout of your benches or any other idea, our specialized technicians will be able to carry out your fiberglass projects to your greatest satisfaction so that you can get the most out of your boat.!

Bow thruster installation (bow thruster)

Stern and bow thrusters (stern thruster / bow thruster) allow you to perform docking and undocking maneuvers regardless of wind, weather conditions, or currents.
The advantage of installing a bow or stern thruster after the boat is built, rather than at the manufacturer's factory, is that you can choose the thruster that will be most advantageous for you. Are you looking for performance? Speed? What are your sailing conditions?
Thruster installation is an art in itself because it's not enough to simply drill a hole in the front of the boat to insert the tunnel. Precise curves around the tunnel must be created for optimal thruster performance. No two thruster installations are the same. Each installation is unique to each boat.
Did you know that installing a bow thruster isn't just for "big" boats and that it can significantly increase the value of your boat?
